Hi, Savannah, Molly, Shawn, Amy and Razz! Wow, I’m excited about the level of interest.
To answer the question about general yoga that Savannah asked, sure, it is ordinary yoga, ie not specifically just for cycling. But, it can’t hurt. It is my experience that most people have hip issues. I used to think it was mostly women who had them, but I am finding that some male yogis I know and have met have them too.
Yoga is good all round. Other parts of the body will be worked on too, such as shoulders, elbows, wrists, and specifically low back to get more power in the push and to decrease the risk of injury in that area. This will also help those of us with “tailbone” issues which, if you have them, you know can be extremly painful on the dismount! lol
Saturday really is the best day for me to start off with. Since there is enough interest to start the class we could start next Sat. 1/30 at 10:30 a.m. if you like.
Have any of you done yoga before? I would like to post a health questionnaire for you to fill out and a release.
As far as the schedule is concerned, the first session of classes should really run for 8-10 weeks to get the maximum benefit. If you wish we could take a break half way through, I’ll let you guys figure that out since I believe some of you are students.
Also, if you don’t mind, each week I will have a sign up sheet posted for class, since if there are not enough to run the class we will not hold it. However, if you sign up for the class and don’t come, then you will need to pay me for that class anyway.
I will also be posting information about equipment, and I can get this for you if you let me know what you want, but I will need to collect the money up front.
We will feel our way along, and I’m sure it will work out fine. I’m looking forward to meeting all of you and sharing some good energy together!
Thanks!
Diana
