Ariel Godwin from MORPC is the guy who’s planning bike/ped counts now. The next one is May 12. He’s hoping to get more volunteers so he can add more locations. The help would be welcome. I just started working on the logistics with the Gahanna camp coordinator. The dates we chose are Fridays, July 16 & 23. They have the camp at two parks: Friendship & Hannah. I need to get more organized, but I’ll touch base with you later.

I attended the Pickerington City Council safety committee meeting to propose my changes to their bicycle ordinances. I realized the day before the meeting that they were also going to be discussing the texting while driving ordinance, but their committee chair told me it was OK to come and talk about bicycles, too. There is a similar bike camp in Troy, OH, taught by Jim Bowell, a local firefighter. He teaches 2 sessions (morning and afternoon) of middle school kids for a week during the summer.
