‘How We Roll’ Campaigns

How We Roll began as a unique cyclist safety campaign funded by the Ohio Departments of Transportation and Public Safety and developed by Yay Bikes! to reduce bike/car crashes near The Ohio State University. The fall quarter campaign featured mass media outreach, free fun and safety swag and free bicycle tours of Columbus, during which experienced cyclists shared “how they roll” with fellow students. The campaign focused on stemming specific behaviors that lead to crashes: riding on sidewalks, failing to stop at red lights and stop signs and not equipping bicycles with lights at night. Free light sets were installed on 700 bikes during the quarter.
